About to cut my floor and I'm agonising over weight vs strength. It'll sit on a 750kg galvanised chassis. What did you all go with?

Finally finished my 5×8 off-grid teardrop — bone dry after a week of Welsh rain
Two years of weekends in the garage and she's road-ready. Aluminium skin over 18mm ply, epoxy-sealed every seam, total weight came in at 480kg. Happy to share the cut list if anyone wants it — AMA!

Slide-out galley with a two-burner and a proper spice rack — cook anywhere
Finally cracked the galley layout. Full slide on drawer runners, two-burner in a stainless recess, and a little magnetic spice rack on the hatch. Cooking a fry-up at a layby has never felt so civilised.

Three nights on the NC500 in the teardrop — what I’d pack differently
Just back from the North Coast 500. Midges are no joke in July. Next time: a proper bug net for the awning, more 12V fans, and fewer clothes. The little trailer towed like a dream behind the estate.

Curved hatch on a budget — bending ply without steam
For anyone dreading the hatch: two layers of 4mm ply, PVA between them, clamped over a simple MDF form overnight. No steam box, no drama. Came out perfectly fair.
